Recently found credit card charges from Artisan Bistro for a bill that was entered in May 2008. The credit card authorization was given in July of 2008. The authorization was presented to the bank in September of 2008. When asked about this extraordinary delay, the owner stated that he had "found" some $2 coffee charges and other charges that he decided to send now because his VISA charge machine "wasn't working." My bank said they had never seen anything like it. His name will be going to the attorney general's office and the Better Business Burea a lot quicker than the recent charges he "forgot" about. And we wonder why small businesses don't survive in Michigan!

I was born in Ypsilanti, and lived there until I was 10. I remember my dad/mom taking my sister and I there. It was the best tasting hotdog's and rootbeer that I can remember ever having. I now live in Tennessee and am planning on being up there in mid Sept. I hope they're still open this time of year!!

I am 56 years old and still one of my favorite food memories is of Bill's. If you never thought you liked root beer Bill's would convert you. My grandparents lived a couple of blocks away from Bill's and I almost can still taste the the meat in a bun that was I think their version of a hamburger. My uncle would buy us a bag of 'em with a couple of coned-quarts of that root beer elixir. What a meal! Could someone maybe clear up my memory of that hamburger? Was it just the coney sauce without the hot dog? I now live in Tennessee and would give my right arm to have their recipes for that sandwich and root beer!

As I recall Bill's always used dehydrated onions! I havent been there in probably 30 years but I used to go there all the time with my mom and we'd get a load of hot dogs and a quart of their "home made root beer." I dunno if it was home made or just fountain, but it didnt seem right having those fantastic chili dogs without that cone shaped cardboard "barrel" of root beer on the table. I still remember them as having the best coneys EVER.

Nice to know it's still there. I'll definitely be stopping by if I get back to Ypsi.
