The other classes I’d looked at previously — and a few others I sat in on besides — failed to impress or seemed too close to work I’d done before. This ends up being a semester reasonably full of self-directed work bounded by bullshit academic structures and obfuscated with a pile of academic papers to read/skim/glance at, which is what I had sort of expected from the graduate program in the first place.
